NEW YORK (CBS 2) – Millions of dollars could be raised by Times Square merchants who are joining forces in the battle against cancer.
Nearly 100 businesses will donate money to the organization Stand Up To Cancer.
When customers use Mastercard to make a purchase the businesses will donate one dollar for each transaction.
Ethan Zohn, a cancer survivor, winner of the CBS Show “Survivor, ” and an ambassador for Stand Up To Cancer said the money raised will ” fund important translational research which gets these treatments out of the laboratory and to the patients — like me – as quickly as possible.”
The fundraising initiative will run through December.
