Web Site Calls For Removal Of White Plains Mayor

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- There is an effort in White Plains to oust Mayor Adam Bradley from office after he was convicted of assaulting his wife, Fumiko Bradley.

New York State doesn't have the recall provision, but as WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reports, that's not stopping some. A new Web site called RecallBradley.com is still looking to boot Bradley due to his domestic violence conviction.

WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi on how the Mayor could be removed from office.

According to White Plains Common Council member David Buchwald, it's not that easy.

"There are three ways the mayor's office could become vacant. First, if he were to resign. Second, for the governor to remove him," he said.

"A very direct way the Common Council can ensure that Mayor Bradley leaves office is to use our authority to remove a mayor."

Buchwald said if it came down to a vote, he would certainly vote to remove the mayor.
