Tony's Table: Zuppa di Pesce

NEW YORK (CBS 2) - A little trepid about cooking a fish stew? Don't worry! CBS 2's Tony Tantillo has an easy to make, and tasty to enjoy fish stew... perfect for dinner any night of the week!

Zuppa di Pesce

1/2 lb. mussels

1/2 lb. calamari

1/2 lb. shrimp

1/2 lb. cod

1/2 lb. spaghetti

1/4 cup fish stock

3 cloves garlic, chopped

1/2 cup olive oil

12 oz. tomato sauce

basil

red pepper flakes

Italian parsley

Prepare pasta:

- Cook spaghetti in a pot of salted, boiling water for 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Prepare fish:

- Heat olive oil in pan, then brown the garlic in it.

- Add shrimp and mussels to pan and saute for 2 minutes.

- Add fish stock and bring to a boil, then add tomato sauce.

- Add cod, calamari, and shrimp, and allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Combine elements:

- Add cooked spaghetti, mix in pan and allow to cook together for 2-3 minutes (enough for pasta to absorb the liquid).

- Add red pepper flakes, salt and pepper to taste.

Plate:

- Serve topped with Italian parsley and basil.
