Truck Slams Into Snow Bank On LIE

QUEENS (CBSNewYork) -- Police closed off a portion of the Long Island Expressway Wednesday afternoon after a truck skidded off the road and into a snow bank.

The accident happened around noon when the truck hit a patch of ice while driving in the east bound adjacent to 156th Street. The truck made a quick stop when it hit the snowy embankment.

The FDNY and NYPD Emergency Highway Services both responded to the accident. All four eastbound lanes of the LIE were shut down as a tow truck maneuvered the disabled vehicle off the side of the snow bank and back onto the roadway.
