ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York’s new governor got some unwelcome help in trying to reach out through Twitter.

An unknown tweeter set up a fake Twitter account and briefly linked it to Andrew Cuomo’s official state website Sunday morning.

But Cuomo spokesman Josh Vlasto says the problem was quickly corrected. He had no further comment.

The posts on the fake account showed nothing malicious and no outlandish statements or misstatements over a few hours Sunday morning.

Cuomo’s real Twitter account at (at)NYGovCuomo had tweeted the news on Sunday that Cuomo was ordering top state officials in the executive chamber to undergo ethics training.

A fake tweet suggested the governor’s office get some training in social networking, too.
