Cops: Suspect Wore Bloody Boots To Interview

WOODBURY, NJ (AP) - Police say they arrested a woman in connection to a Gloucester County homicide after she wore boots with the victim's blood on them to a police interview.

Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office Detective Bryn Wilden says Lori Hummel agreed to an interview after 54-year-old Thomas Carbin was found stabbed to death in his Westville apartment last month.

Wilden says the 39-year-old Hummel, a Gloucester City resident, wasn't suspected in the killing until detectives noticed blood on her boots. The blood turned out to be Carbin's.

Hummel's lawyer Bridget Greene says the case is circumstantial and that Hummel was home with her daughter at the time of the killing.

Hummel is charged with stabbing and robbing Carbin and is being held on $500,000 bail.
