Conn. Police Searching For Robbery Suspect In Darien

DARIEN, Conn. (WCBS 880) -- Police are looking for a man who pulled off an armed robbery in Darien on Saturday.

A Darien woman and her young son exited Ten Twenty Post, an upscale restaurant right in the heart of town, at about 5:30 p.m. when a man with a gun confronted them, Police Capt. Fred Calm said.

The confrontation happened just as the woman was putting her child in the car in the lot in the rear of the restaurant, Calm said.

The robber then ordered her to take off her wedding and engagement rings and give him her cell phone.

"[He] even instructed her to enter her vehicle and not to look at him and then he ran off," Calm said.

When she got in the car, the gunman disappeared. Police said the man described as a large black man about 220 pounds, 5-feet-9-inches is still on the loose. If anybody saw this they are asked to call police in Darien.
