Repeated snowstorms have diverted train crews to keeping the tracks clear for regular service on the New Haven line.
This, along with ongoing computer glitches, has snarled efforts to get the new M-8 cars into service.
Acting DOT commissioner Jeffrey Parker had hoped to get the six prototypes boarding passengers this month.
As to when they'll be ready to roll, he says, "We hope to get them in service, you know, in a matter of weeks, but, you know, we've been saying that for quite some time. So, I don't want to predict a date."
Parker say the initial six cars have been yet to complete their final 4,000-mile testing.
