Police Seek Suspect In Attempted Sex Assault In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York City Police Department has asked for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in an attempted sex assault early Wednesday morning in Brooklyn.

Police say the 25-year-old victim was walking near St. Felix Street and Hanson Place at about 1:30 a.m. when she was approached by the suspect from behind. The suspect grabbed her and attempted to remove her clothing.

The victim began to scream, alerting passersby, and the suspect fled the scene. The woman was not injured during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian male, between 5'11" and 6'0" with a medium build and light-colored hair. He was wearing a dark pea coat with a light-colored button-down shirt.

Anyone with information in regards to the sexual assault is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
