Cops Investigate Armed Mugging Spree In NYC

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD was asking for the public's help in cracking a mugging spree in Brooklyn and Queens.

Police said three armed individuals approached their female victims as they were entering their vehicles at gunpoint, demanding their ATM cards and PIN numbers.

The suspects then, according to police, drove their victims to ATMs to withdraw money from their accounts.

Police said the suspects were responsible for seven robberies. All but two of them took place in the late morning.

Their victims ranged in ages from 26 to 69.

The suspects are described as one Black man with dark complexion, one Black man with light complexion, and one Black woman. All three were said to be between 25 and 35-years-old.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visit the Crime Stoppers website, or text TIP577 along with a message to to 274637 (CRIMES).
