Super Bowl: L.I. Dog Finally Sniffs Out Wrong Pick

GLEN COVE, N.Y. (WFAN/AP) — A 15-year-old Long Island, N.Y., dog may have to learn some new tricks.

The German shepherd-border collie mix named Lady had correctly predicted the past six National Football League champs, but this year her nose failed to sniff out the winner of Super Bowl XLV.

Her owner Vera Von Wiren Garczynski of Glen Cove says this year Lady erroneously picked the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The family says usually a day or two before Sunday's game Lady is taken for a walk. When she returns home she's asked if she wants to come in. If she doesn't, it means the AFC is going to win. But they say if she does, it means she's picked the NFC.

The NFC's Green Bay Packers won their first NFL championship in 14 years Sunday with a 31-25 victory over the Steelers.
