Joba Chamberlain is listed in last year's Yankee media guide at 230 pounds. Listed weights sometimes mean very little as we've come to find out over the years. Joba's weight has been something of a topic early this spring, definitely heavier than the end of last season but no one is saying how much. But the fact that its been acknowledged by both Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi will indicate that he's not simply 1 or 2 pounds over his prescribed weight.
Girardi spent several minutes of his daily briefing answering questions about Joba's weight, focusing mostly on performance over appearance…and the manager is so far satisfied with the performance.
