Derek Jeter met the media for the first time Sunday as the Yankees took the field for their first full squad workout.  Jeter answered questions about his contentious contract negotiations, but was quick to defuse the situation by saying there were no lingering thoughts of disrespect or extra motivation.  Also addressing his new swing work with hitting coach Kevin Long, his pursuit of 3000 hits, and his expectations for 2011, here is Yankee Captain Derek Jeter:

    I think Derek Jeter is a humble guy. He’s a great ball player and I love to watch the Yankees play because of him.

    Thanks Tracy. There’s only one thing I love more then pizza and chicken wings, and that’s a ball game between the Red Sox and Yankees. No other team line-up gets me all that gun ho as the Red Sox and Yankees.
