The kids walked around with toothbrushes and dental floss, learning about the basics of healthy hygiene.
Pediatric dentist Dr. Suzy Press, who's taking part in the awareness day, said kids shouldn't be strangers to their dentists.
"The recommendations are twice a year," she said, adding that visits should be every six months.
The Center is advocating that parents get involved because Press said kids model their behaviors after grownups. If mom and dad have good hygiene, then the kids will likely follow.
"It's going to be a wonderful program. It's a science-based program and it's an interactive program," she said. "It's for parents and for kids of all ages. We'll have dentists there and volunteers."
