Rangers Biron Out With Broken Collarbone

NEW YORK (AP) — Rangers backup goalie Martin Biron is out indefinitely because of a broken collarbone, sustained when he was struck with a shot during practice.

New York general manager Glen Sather announced the injury Monday, shortly after the NHL trade deadline passed.

The Rangers acquired center John Mitchell from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a seventh-round pick in next year's draft, and looked into getting another veteran backup to Henrik Lundqvist before the deadline, but found the asking prices to be too high.

Instead, New York called up Cam Talbot from Connecticut of the AHL. He will be available for Tuesday night's home game against Buffalo.
