WCBS 880′s Catherine Cioffi reports from Westchester County
After six years of back and forth, deadlines, and studies, the owners of Chappaqua Crossing, the former Reader’s Digest campus, have filed suits against the town of New Castle, in both state and federal court.
“Enough is enough,” says Chappaqua Crossing’s Geoff Thompson, who explains that the suits seek damages, the ability to put more commercial tenants on the property, and the ability to build housing units.
“We have 22 different versions of the plans that the town has required us to do,” says Thompson. “It really becomes abusive and the developers just finally said ‘Let the courts take a look at this situation and what’s happened to us.’.”
Meanwhile, calls to town have not been returned.
