B&C Show Blog & Audio: Beltran On The Move

Bobby Dwyer

Carlos Beltran will voluntarily make the move from center to right field, which some might view as a sign of maturity on the 33 year-old, former center fielder's part, but Craig Carton is not one of them.  Craigie doesn't like it one bit, he believes this is a telltale sign that Beltran is at the end of his rope, finished, done.  Boomer isn't ready to put a fork in Beltran just yet, telling his radio partner that this is not necessarily the end of the line for Beltran and that the Mets are clearly a better team with Angel Pagan patrolling center.  Craig wasn't hearing it though, his mind was made-up, Carlos Beltran and his ailing knees are through, his career is over, period.  Predictably, Boomer eventually got fed-up with Craig and his negative outlook on today, the first day of March…

Stanford v UCLA

Jerry got things started talking about Beltran asking Terry Collins to move him to right field and Luis Castillo making his spring debut in Luis Castillo fashion.  Then we heard from a slimmer CC Sabathia, and all about Derek Jeter hitting six consecutive groundballs yesterday, before all hell broke loose.  Deron Williams made his home debut for the New Jersey Nets and came oh so close to getting his first win, falling in overtime to the Phoenix Suns 104-103.  This was a game that Craig's favorite Net, Brook Lopez go up against his twin brother Robin and Jerry had postgame audio from both of them and Craig had himself a blast.  They finished things off by talking about the NFL labor talks that are starting to get very ugly…

Charlie Sheen (aka Carlos Irwin Estevez) Disposition Hearing
(Photo by Riccardo S. Savi/Getty Images)

Charlie Sheen, you could say, is living a life like no other.  His wild lifestyle has been well documented, complete with sexual trysts with porn stars, to drug benders that last for days.  With all of that said, his CBS sitcom 'Two and a Half Men' has been widely successful and he is reportedly a professional on the set, meaning he shows up on time and is able to perform without incident.   With the show currently on hiatus and possibly being cancelled all together, Sheen has been doing a media tour of sorts and his latest comment caught the attention of B&C…

Cal Ripken Jr. accomplished just about everything one could hope to accomplish on the baseball field during his Hall of Fame career and after today's in-studio visit with B&C, he has got to be closing in on accomplishing everything he could hope to accomplish in retirement.  Like Boomer ('A Boy Named Boomer'), Ripken wrote a children's book titled, 'Hothead' and he was very excited to tell the guys all about it.  From there he talked about the prospect of Derek Jeter switching positions somewhere down the road and the financial mess that the Mets are in…

Horse

This morning Craig allowed himself to fantasize a bit and he imagined what his life would be like if he had 'Jeter Money'.  He envisioned himself living on a ranch in Montana and riding horses, bareback, all day long.  That led to a conversation about Police horses and the purpose they serve to the community…
