ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A Long Island woman was arrested Friday night for driving while intoxicated with her four-month-old son in the vehicle.

Tina Fitzpatrick, 32, of Islip, was driving her 2010 Hyundai on 47th Street in Islip just before midnight when she struck a pole just east of Commack Road.

Upon interviewing Fitzpatrick, the responding officer determined that she was intoxicated and placed her under arrest. She was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Leandra’s Law is class D felony if no death or serious injury is involved, punishable by a prison term of up to 4 years and a fine of $1000 to $5000. This woman deserves to be hit with the maximum for this. DWI with a 4 mos old child in the car ?? Is she for real??
