John Flaherty started his career with the Boston Red Sox. He was drafted in 1988, made it to the big leagues in 1992 and ended his career with the Yankees in 2005 — with stops in Detroit, San Diego and Tampa Bay in between.

These days Flaherty is an analyst for the YES Network and an old friend of the show. So he joined Boomer & Craig on this Opening Day to offer a little preview of the Bronx Bombers

Afterward, Boomer & Craig were curious what time WFAN’s Yankee beat reporter Sweeny Murti would be arriving at the Stadium today for the 1:05 start, so they told Al ‘Hughes’ Dukes to get him on the horn.

Turns out Sweeny was already in the Bronx, having just arrived in the parking lot. He talked with the guys on his walk into the Stadium and offered a little scene setter.
