Long Island Man Dies After Arrest

WYANDANCH, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say a Long Island man who had been arrested for disorderly conduct died suddenly as he was being taken to a hospital following a scuffle with police.

The Suffolk County Police Department says 45-year-old Willie Jackson was taken into custody early Saturday morning after he refused to leave the Peace Makers Motorcycle Club in Wyandanch.

The police had received a 9-1-1 call saying Jackson was drunk and wouldn't go home.

The department says Jackson was being taken by ambulance to a medical center in West Islip when he suffered cardiac arrest. Officials think he may have had a heart attack, but the cause of death is under investigation.
