WARWICK, NY (WCBS 880) - Parents in the Warwick school district are now being warned that an elementary school student has tested positive for exposure to tuberculosis.

School officials say this does not mean the child actually has TB.

School officials have declined to speak on tape, but said they are monitoring the situation. Parents will be alerted once it is determined whether or not that child has tuberculosis.

TB is a bacterial infection that attacks the lungs and can be fatal if not treated.
