B&C Morning Show: John Smoltz With Boomer & Carton
When John Smoltz (pictured above takin' it to the hole) was scheduled to come on with Boomer & Craig this morning, one would think the guys would spend the time talking baseball with the former Big League pitcher and eventually they did, but first it was all about golf, as Smoltz prepares for his upcoming event on the Nationwide Tour.
In addition to being a Hall of Fame caliber pitcher, Smoltz is also a scratch golfer and has played with the likes of Tiger Woods. He talked with the guys about the Masters, "a tradition unlike any other," and his own golf game, which according to him is currently in the dumps.
When the conversation shifted to baseball Smoltz had plenty to say, especially regarding the Mets and their early season struggles. Despite the shaky performance last night, Smoltz said he likes what Bobby Parnell brings to the table for the Mets out of the bullpen.
Smoltz also doesn't see the Yankees sustaining any kind of long slump because their lineup is just too good.
The conversation with Smoltz ended the same way it began, talking about golf as Smoltz let the guys know he is in for a little "friendly" match the nets time he is in town, of course stating he would prefer to play with Boomer rather than Craig...
