Off-Duty Tunnel Officer Recovering After Being Shot
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – An off-duty bridge and tunnel police officer is recovering in a Brooklyn hospital after being shot while breaking up an attempted robbery on Saturday night.
The officer, identified by the Daily News as 10-year veteran Anthony Pressly, was inside an auto repair shop at 74 Albany Ave. in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn at 8:23 p.m. when four to five males entered armed with firearms and announced a robbery, police said.

When the suspects realized that the Triboro Bridge and Tunnel Authority police officer was armed, they assaulted him, police said. Pressly then drew his weapon and fire shots at the suspects.
During the gunfire, police said Pressly was struck in the left shoulder. EMS responded and transported him to Kings County Hospital where he is in stable condition.
Police said 18-year-old Reashawn Jackson and 21-year-old Kenneth Baxter , both of Brooklyn, were arrested Sunday on charges including attempted murder and robbery. It was not immediately clear if they had lawyers.
Two of the suspects were also shot. Police found a 19-year-old male in front of the shop with gunshot wounds to the leg and shoulder. He was also taken to Kings County Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
The second suspect, a 21-year-old male, walked into Interfaith Hospital with gunshot wounds to his neck and face. He is listed in stable condition.
Abdu Aldafari owns the bodega next door and said the scene was crammed with cops shortly after the shooting.
“I didn’t know he was a cop. I just heard two people got shot. I saw someone lying down on the sidewalk,” Aldafari said.
Aldafari said it’s not good at all.
The other suspects got away.
“There were a lot of cops outside and ambulance,” one witness said.
Police recovered a hi-point 9mm firearm from in front of 58 Albany Ave. shortly after the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
