Manhattan Florist Nick Bazas Says He's Racked Up Tickets For Parking Legally
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Manhattan store owner says he has been slapped with half a dozen tickets for parking legally outside his flower shop.
Nick Bazas, the owner of Quality Florist on Columbus Avenue, said he has gotten ticket after ticket totaling $65 each for parking on the block between 81st and 82nd streets.

The tickets all indicate that the trucks delivering to Bazas' store failed to display a Muni Meter receipt. There is just one problem, no meters exist on the east side of the street where the vehicles park.
"My delivery guys come. They need to park somewhere. They load, by the time they come here, they got a ticket," Bazas told 1010 WINS' Stan Brooks.
The signs on the block designate the zone as one for commercial parking, loading and unloading. They also say that no receipt is needed.
"You do not need to have a Muni Meter receipt," a perturbed Bazas said. "We park legally, we get tickets. That's the bottom line. The meter maids misread the signs."
