Police: Suspect Sought In Bronx Purse Snatching

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police are searching for a robber that targeted an elderly woman in the Bronx.

The incident happened last Friday around 11:30 p.m. on Arthur Avenue in the Belmont section of the borough.

Surveillance cameras caught the suspect coming up behind a 78-year-old woman, grabbing her purse and pulling her to the ground.

Two men walking with the victim immediately gave chase but the suspect escaped.

The victim sustained bruising and swelling to her leg and hip.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket with multi-colored embroidery on the back.
