Police: Man In Casino Parking Garage Fall May Recover

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Atlantic City police said a man who accidentally fell from a casino parking garage early Saturday was expected to survive.

Sgt. Monica McMenamin said 22-year-old Richard J. Vogel of Westville had been fighting with another casino patron on the fourth floor of the Harrah's Resort garage around 5:40 a.m.

When casino security arrived on scene, they saw Vogel on the outer area of the structure, apparently trying to climb down to the third floor. But he lost his footing and fell, landing in a grassy area.

Vogel was conscious and speaking with emergency responders as they took him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's city campus. But further details on his injuries were not disclosed.

No charges have been filed, but McMenamin says the investigation is ongoing.
