2nd Fatal Shooting On Same Poughkeepsie Street

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the second fatal shooting in less than two weeks on the same street in Poughkeepsie.

Police say officers responding to reports of gunfire near a bar found a wounded man lying in a parking lot shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday. The man died at the scene.

Authorities say he was shot in the torso multiple times. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

On April 24, 39-year-old Marcus Woody of Newburgh was fatally shot at nearly the same spot on the street as Thursday’s slaying. Police don’t think the shootings are related.

No one has been arrested in either shooting.

Used to be a nice town. I was out there recently and wow ,what a run down ,drug infested town it is now ! Becoming typical of suburban areas that were once nice and now disgusting ,happening all over America. Sad
