Two Suspects Wanted In Violent Midtown Hotel Heists

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York City Police are looking for two suspects wanted in robberies that took place inside Midtown hotel rooms last weekend.

In the first incident happened on April 30 at the Wellington Hotel. One of the suspects, described as a black or Hispanic man with long hair in a pony tail, was allowed to enter the hotel room of a 24-year-old woman and subsequently threatened her with a pocket knife. After a struggle with the suspect, the woman suffered a laceration to her hand.

The suspect was able to get away with cash and cell phones. The victim was treated for her injuries at an area hospital.

In the second incident on May 1, a 30-year-old woman allowed the same suspect inside her room at the Roosevelt Hotel. The suspect displayed a knife and struggled with the victim, placing her in a chokehold until she lost consciousness, police said.

The suspect took cash, a laptop and cell phones before escaping through an elevator, where a second suspect was waiting for him. The victim in the second robbery did not request medical attention.
