From Boomer & Carton
Craig stayed up to watch the end of the Yankees’ 15-inning, 4-1 victory over the Orioles last night in Baltimore and he was sure happy he did. Not only was he rewarded by witnessing a Yankees win, but according to him, he saw what could be a season-changing triumph.
There was plenty of drama as Bartolo Colon pitched a gem, leaving the game after 8 innings of shutout ball only to have Mariano Rivera blow his 3rd save of the season to force the extra-frames. Robinson Cano hit a tie-breaking, 2-run double in the top of the 15th and the Yanks went on to get the win.
Craig called it “edge of your seat awesomeness,” so between watching the Yanks and “American Idol” he saw very little of the Mets’ 3-0 win over the Nationals. Not to worry though, because Boomer was locked in and despite the rain soaked field, he came away very impressed by the performance of Jonathon Niese.
So today we had an extra-special edition of the “Morning Extravaganza,” not only did the Yanks and Mets both win, but all day long we’ll be celebrating the 34th birthday of Brandon Inge, because we all like Inge, we all like Inge a lot…
