NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The New York City Police Department was asking for the public’s help in finding a female burglar caught on surveillance video in Queens.

Police said the woman broke into an apartment in Astoria at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and stole electronic equipment before fleeing the scene.

The suspect was described as a black or Hispanic woman between 30 and 40 years old. She was last seen wearing a black and grey jacket, and black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES), then entering TIP577.
