Sample The Best Food Trucks Have To Offer At Food Truck Frenzy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – It’s Food Truck Frenzy on Monday and that means New Yorkers can sample some of the city’s best food trucks.

The Zagat Food Truck Frenzy is a gathering of 20 of New York City’s favorite food trucks.

Event producer Tim Zagat says food trucks have impacted New York City dining and cuisine in recent years.

“Just like the street vendors that are a vital part of the New York City culture, we expect food trucks will also come to be accepted city-wide,” he said. “They are generally inexpensive and they usually have better food and more of it.”

So what was the inspiration for the event? Zagat says, the people.

“In our recent surveys across the country, an increasing number of people say they are frequenting food trucks and/or following them via social networking sites,” he said. “Given this interest, we have been rating and reviewing food trucks throughout the past year. This also inspired us to celebrate this popular new trend.”

The Zagat Food Truck Frenzy is Monday, May 23 from 12pm to 3pm at 21st and 22nd streets between 10th and 11th avenues.

How sanitary are those food trucks? What happens if the food vendor has to relief himself? How clean are their hands if they handle food and money?

    1. Roach Motel says:

Those food trucks are full of roaches and at nights the rats run all over….

Thank heavens for Food Truck Frenzy. It highlights what has always made New York special — the independent entrepreneurs who bring their regional and ethnic culture to their neighbors in tasty bites. It is the antithesis of Big Box stores and chain restaurant. Kudos to you Tim Zagat.

Take your chances. I’t like having unprotected sexual intercourse.

  4. Rob says:

Are there any trucks that Steam Maryland Blue Crabs?

  5. Sally Rogers says:

If you met the Zagats you wouldn’t even think to eat from anything they recommend. Tim is like a grown up toddler and Nina is Leona Helmsley incarnate. Nasty horrible people who enjoy torturing wait staff.
