Poll: Most In Garden State Want To Visit Jersey Shore

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A new poll finds nearly two in three New Jerseyans plan on visiting the Jersey shore this year, but there’s no consensus on which beach is best.

The Monmouth University/NJ Press Media poll out Thursday finds 65 percent of respondents plan to visit the shore. That’s down slightly from last year.

Nearly half of them say the shore visit will be their main vacation trip this year.

As for a favorite spot, 9 percent mentioned either The Wildwoods or Point Pleasant Beach, followed closely by Long Beach Island, Ocean City and Cape May. Ten percent said they couldn’t choose one town.

The telephone poll of 807 adult residents was conducted from May 12-16 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

What a stupid poll. That’s like saying 2 in 3 New Yorkers plan on visiting the Statue of Liberty. Duh. Thank you Captain Obvious.

Seaside Heights has been rated cleanest Beach in NJ for over 10 years. The Bad rap we get is ok with me it keeps alot of people we don’t want out of Seaside. We have the best boardwalk and great Resturants like the Greek Peak, Hemingways, and Klee’s. I have lived here for 10 years and love it. Our Police Chief is the best, he is out on the road working with his Officers rather than sitting on his butt like all the other Chiefs. We have also been rated the best surfing beach on the East coast by several surfing groups. Don’t come unless you want family fun and a great Beach

    SEASIDE HEIGHTS
BEEN COMING ON VACATION HERE FOR 50 YEARS
SEASIDE HAS ALWAYS GIVEN NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THIS BEACH TOWN AND NEVER MENTIONED IN NEW JERSEY AS A POPULAR BEACH ENTITY. IT’S BEEN A GREAT SUMMER SPOT FOR OVER 50 YEARS. IT IS A FAMILY FUN AREA ON THE JERSEY SHORE HAS ONE OF THE BEST BOARDWALK, GREAT RIDES, MANY AMUSEMENTS, WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD AND BEACHES AND SWIMMING, JUST VISIT AND YOU DECIDE
