Police Seek Suspect Tyrone Rosario In Bronx Muggings Of Elderly Women

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in the Bronx are looking for a suspect wanted in a string of muggings, mostly targeting elderly women.

Authorities are asking for the public to help them track down 40-year-old Tyrone Rosario. They say Rosario has approached victims and engaged them in conversation before physically assaulting and robbing them.

The muggings have occurred in the Fordham and Bedford Park sections of the Bronx.

All of the alleged incidents have taken place on Saturdays and date back to April 23, when an 80-year-old woman and an 81-year-old woman were mugged just hours apart.

The latest robbery took place on May 9 around 6:38 p.m. in Bedford Park, where police said a 70-year-old woman was victimized.

Police have released a photo of Rosario and describe him as 5'5'' and approximately 120 pounds.
