Annual 'Big Apple BBQ' Block Party Fires Up Madison Square Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Madison Square Park will be on fire this weekend—and it has nothing to do with the rising temperatures.

The ninth annual Big Apple Barbecue Block Party will be held in Madison Square Park on Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day. The event aims to bring together the best barbecue chefs—known as "pitmasters"—and more than 100,000 barbecue enthusiasts for the two-day event.
