More Big Cat Sightings In Greenwich
GREENWICH, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) — There have been two more big cat sightings in Greenwich, but state environmental officials say there’s no evidence to back them up.
For more than a week, there have been mountain lion sightings in and around Greenwich, even though the eastern mountain lion has been declared officially extinct.
On Wednesday, officials say a woman walking her dog reported seeing a big cat being chased by two dogs in northwest Greenwich.
An employee of Fairview Golf Course later said he saw a mountain lion on a stone wall.
Dennis Schain, a spokesman for state Department of Environmental Protection, says there was no evidence found at either site.
They believe it was being kept illegally and either escaped or was released.
