B&C Morning Show: Mets Still In It To Win It, Yankees Have Trouble Ahead

Sandy Alderson said on a conference call yesterday afternoon that the Mets are not waving the white flag as far of the rest of their season is concerned.  This after the Mets' GM dealt his closer Francisco Rodriguez to the Milwaukee Brewers shortly after Tuesday night's All-Star Game.  A move that Craig - and many others - took as a sign of things to come, meaning the Mets' fire-sale had begun.

If you take Alderson at his word, he would have you believe the fire sale Craig has been eluding to is in fact not happening, but Craigie isn't buying it.  Boomer proudly stated that he is on-board with Alderson and that he plans on supporting this Mets team to the bitter end.

As for the Yankees, Craig referenced the classic Grateful Dead tune "Casey Jones" when talking about their plight, particularly the line "trouble ahead..."

He was quick to point out that not only will they be without Alex Rodriguez - who had surgery on his right knee Monday and is expected to be out 4-6 weeks - but they also will have to deal with a mentally and physically exhausted Derek Jeter.  They will begin their "long strange trip" this evening in Toronto with Bartolo Colon on the mound...
