2 Long Island Officers Assaulted While Arresting Stabbing Suspect

WYANDANCH, N.Y. (AP) — Police on Long Island say two officers were assaulted as they were arresting a stabbing suspect.

Christopher Brooks, of Wyandanch, was suspected of stabbing two people on June 29.

Suffolk County police officers went to arrest the 38-year-old Brooks on Sunday morning after a 911 caller reported spotting him.

According to the police, Brooks fled on foot when the officers arrived and was apprehended a few blocks away.

Police say Brooks resisted arrest by throwing an officer to the ground and kicking and punching the officer. They say that after being handcuffed he head-butted another officer.

The two officers and Brooks were all treated for their injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

Brooks is being held pending arraignment Monday. No information on a lawyer was immediately available.

Too bad the police didn’t have dogs. There are far too many restrictions on the police for the use of justified force. In Singapore, this thug would suffer a whipping with split banboo canes; he would be unable to walk for a week.

Here we go again with the dissing of the police. But when your in trouble then who do you call, The Boy Scots. The cops have a hard job as it is and many put their lives on the line for the rest of us to at least live in peace and security. Give them a break will you.

      • real gov't

also, they are well paid with cash, benefits, grafts and perks to do what they SIGN UP for. no surprises. we will see how much you love police when they get orders to take you down, remove your property and treat u like an object. same as for FD.
lackeys with little or no accountability.
they do a job. they are not heroes.

      • real gov't

pfft, police primary task is to keep average citizens in line not to protect us.

When I’m in trouble, I call the Shomrim. They are a lawless bunch who will do anything to protect a Jew.
