Police Rangers Respond To NJ Bear Sighting

WAYNE, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A nearly 500-pound bear is up a tree on Black Oak Ridge Road near Jackson Avenue in Wayne.

A large crowd has gathered to peer at the bear that, so far, hasn’t been aggressive. They’re hoping he eventually comes down and wanders back into the nearby woods.

“Right now it’s up a tree, looking down at those of us who are looking up at it, and the police are standing around. I don’t know if they’re waiting to have an animal control officer come or not. It’s a stalemate. It’s bear versus people,” said neighbor Kathy Gibbons.

Work to change state wildlife agency from killing license funding to general public funding. Right now state agencies are just killing businesses working for maximum opportunities for their clientele to kill OUR wildlife. Bears are intelligent, playful, curious, and gentle. They evolved as prey animals and are frightened of us, but just curious. Please respect them and join the save New Jersey bear group to rally against a bear hunt. TELL NEW JERSEY FISH AND WILDLIFE TO STOP RELOCATING BEARS THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO PROMOTE THEIR BEAR HUNT!

  5. Barbara Metzler says:

The black bears climb a tree and wait for everyone to leave so they can leave, too.
Black bears are GENTLE. Don’t freak out. Enjoy them.

I believe that IF all of the smart humans would disperse and go home. The bear would climb down and leave the area. Now since all those “smart” humans are standing around, I would be willing to bet, that the bear isn’t coming down and that this ends up being a situation where the bear ends up being a casualty at some point. GO THE F HOME !!!!!!!!!!!! A_SSHOLES !!!!!
