RYE, NY (WCBS 880) — Playland will have a new attraction for its young visitors.
A 10 year lease agreement has been approved by the Westchester County board for the operation of a children’s museum at Playland.

Under the terms of the lease, the Westchester Children’s Museum will occupy about half of the former men’s bathhouse at Playland. They’ll make more than $6 million worth of repairs and renovations to the building in exchange for a yearly rent of $1.
The measure received the unanimous support of the board, but Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is disappointed by the vote.
He says he wanted to wait and see what the reused recommendations are for the park before making a decision about the measure.
