NEW YORK (WFAN) – Far, far away the Mets have been.

They might as well be in a foreign country. Out of sight, out of mind.

You could have done anything yesterday other than watching the Mets go about their business — the business of winning baseball games, of winning you over in 2011.

Anonymous taking on anonymous, the winner earning a spot in oblivion. These nowhere men, right now, nowhere.

So the Mets beat the Padres. Big whoop.

Still, some did notice the team that couldn’t this year, the team that could and did on Wednesday night.
