Police Arrest Suspect William Green On Assault Charges Against NYPD Officer

NEW YORK (CBSNewyork) — Police have arrested a suspect who they assaulted a NYPD officer back in July.

It happened just before 5 a.m. on July 24. Police say an officer was trying to arrest a suspect on Christopher Street when the he took off.

In surveillance video at the scene, you can see the suspect trying to run away from the officer. You then see them struggling in the road before the suspect breaks free and runs off down the street.

Police say the suspect, 30-year-old William Green from Brooklyn, was arrested and has been charged with assault and resisting arrest.
