Two Quarterfinal Matches Postponed At US Open

NEW YORK (AP) - Two men's quarterfinal matches have been postponed because of rain at the U.S. Open.

Tournament officials said the Novak Djokovic-Janko Tipsarevic and Roger Federer-Jo-Wilfried Tsonga matches would not be played Wednesday.

They were still hoping to get in four men's fourth-round matches that were postponed from Tuesday, along with four women's quarterfinals.

Three of those matches started Wednesday afternoon following a 90-minute delay, but had to be suspended because of rain after only
15 minutes.

About three hours later with play still suspended, officials announced that the two quarterfinals would not go on Wednesday.
