"Once you become involved there, you just want to do more and more," volunteer Angie Rhury told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall.

The charity provides housing, hot meals, clothing, and showers, among other services.

"There's also a shelter they run for veterans that are clean and sober for nine months, and wanting to better their life. And they train them, on job training, or they're allowed to further their education while living there," Rhury said.

The charity feeds an average of 300 people per day.
