Boomer’s old pass-catching mate Cris Collinsworth found time in his very busy schedule to join Boomer & Craig for a few minutes this morning.
The current NBC football analyst and former Cincinnati Bengals (Who Dey!!!) receiver started things off by singing the praises of his former team for both their play on the field – the Bengals are off to a surprising 4-2 start – and for their ability to pull off the trade they did when the shipped disgruntled QB Carson Palmer to Oakland in exchange for a couple of draft picks (first-round pick in 2012 and a 2013 second-round pick – which could turn into a first rounder if the Raiders reach the AFC Championship this year or next).
The Bengals talk worked as a brief distraction, but when it concluded Craig was quick to bring up the story that had Collinsworth abandoning a sinking ship before the woman and children, in order to save his own hide back in March.
Turns out Collinsworth actually acted rather heroically during the ordeal, which saw the Water Front Restaurant in Cincinnati break free of it’s mooring and eventually hit a bridge…
