NEW YORK (WFAN) – A long time ago, the very popular actor Humphrey Bogart lovingly said of baseball: “A hot dog at the ballgame beats roast beef at the Ritz.”
Today, you would get Brad Pitt, “It sure beats roasted organic tofu with barley red potatoes, with either a mustard-based or vinaigrette dressing at the Spring Street Natural.”
Where’s the romance with baseball today?
But still, it is baseball, and there is no other sport where the key to the game is to be safe at home. It’s a simple game of catch.
And yes, it’s World Series time.
Which means the next week and a half will be measured only in outs.
