Hempstead Man Charged With Repeatedly Striking 7-Month-Old

HEMPSTEAD, NY (CBSNewYork) – A Hempstead man was arrested on charges of repeatedly striking a 7-month-old baby.

Nassau County police say 23-year-old Omar Flores hit the infant on the head and body Monday afternoon.

The 7-month-old was taken to the hospital with swelling, contusions and abrasions.

Flores was arrested and charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He’s scheduled to be in court Tuesday.

The investigation is still ongoing.
