Boomer called the Jets defensive performance on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills the best in the ‘Rex Ryan era’ and then we learned about a new battle cry apparently adopted by the defensive unit, ‘Lay ‘Em Down – Smack ‘Em – Yak ‘Em’.
After having some fun with the Jets new montra, Jerry Recco took a shot of Afrin from Boomer and then delivered an update, which began with the sad news that Smokin’ Joe Frazier has passed away at the age of 67.
Jerry provided some old audio of Muhammad Ali praising Frazier’s toughness and Craig asking the former Heavy Weight Champion of the World, for his money who is the greatest Heavy Weight off all-time.
Then Boomer & Craig reluctantly discussed the disturbing, sex abuse scandal story coming out of Penn State, calling for all those involved – including head coach Joe Paterno – to be held accountable for their actions.
From there it was on to the NFL, where Week 9 was wrapped up with a 30-24 Bears win in Philadelphia over the Eagles last night. We also got to hear from Rex Ryan and Tom Coughlin after their respective teams came-up with big wins on Sunday and Craig imagined how Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum might have taken too the Jets new ‘Lay ‘Em Down – Smack ‘Em – Yak ‘Em’ defensive credo…
