Ronnie Spector Headlines South Street Seaport Tree-Lighting
NEW YORK (AP) -- Hard to believe it's only a month until Christmas.
Rock legend Ronnie Spector is the headliner Friday night at the South Street Seaport's tree-lighting ceremony in Lower Manhattan.
The Seaport's Christmas tree is about 40 feet tall.
Not to be outdone, Long Island's Cradle of Aviation museum is having a whole Festival of Trees from Friday through Sunday.
The main tree is 16 feet, and decorated with -- of course -- an aviation theme. It's surrounded by 32 trees that are 6 feet tall, and 300 mini-trees.
The museum also is stocked with 3,000 gingerbread men, awaiting decoration by kids.
