Police: Motorcycle Hits, Kills Pedestrian On West Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police say a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a motorcycle early Friday morning on the West Side.

Police say a 22-year-old woman driving the motorcycle hit the man while he crossed the street at 57th and 10th Avenue just before 3 a.m.

The 58-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators on the scene say they believe a pothole in the road may have contributed to the accident.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital. She isn’t expected to face any charges.

Seems like a result of a few things, cold tires, cold weather, tired rider, and inexperienced rider. I doubt the pothole had anything to do with it, unless it was as wide as her lane, even then she would’ve been able to avoid it earlier.
