We are just three days away from the NFL match-up that has captivated the entire Tri-State area.  When the Giants and the Jets finally take the field this Saturday afternoon all of the chatter will come to an end and the result will be decided on the field.  Until then though, it’s all about the trash talk and for that we are thankful for the Jets’ outspoken, overweight head coach Rex Ryan – who has played his role perfectly thus far.

Boomer & Craig were fixated on how vastly different the Giants and the Jets really are, which makes the Christmas Eve match-up all the more intriguing.  While Rex Ryan is worrying about getting the proper flavors for his weekly ice-cream social, Tom Coughlin is desperately looking for leadership in his locker room.  While Eli Manning is out antiquing, Mark Sanchez is smashing-out ‘super-models.’  Two different worlds indeed.

So the primary focus of today’s show open was on the Giants-Jets game, but Boomer couldn’t help but veer off topic just a bit as the Rangers beat the Devils 4-1 at the Rock last night – which had Boomer all sorts of fired-up.  On the other hand, Boomer was not so thrilled with the odor and mess currently in his office – so the Booms kinda had his ‘tale of two’ going on this morning as well.

Craig doesn’t care much about the Rangers win, but aside from the football, Craig is pumped up that basketball will be back  at the Mecca tonight as the Knicks welcome the Nets to MSG for both team’s final preseason tuneup before the real thing commences Christmas Day (for the Knicks anyway, who open up at the Garden against the Celtics – while the Nets open up 12/26 in Washington).
